Pitching In
About taking the time to thoughtfully prepare.
Into the Grizzly Den we go
The Higher Landing program has brought me further and faster than I had thought possible.
When I discovered HL, it was almost a complete fluke. I was attending an event at Platform Calgary and I met one of the engineers working on their new Hub product. They told me about the program which I immediately became interested in because it was a strong match for my needs at the time. A cohort of other professionals seeking their next role, but more importantly seeking to understand how to navigate the new reality of the workforce!
Now, after nearly three full-time months of deep personal reflection, hard work, and a LOT of help from the cohort; I am poised to deliver my pitch to the Grizzly Den!
To be clear: I have never had any issue telling people who I am or what I do, but I certainly have struggled to deliver my message in the best possible way. Knowing your audience is quite the challenge in such a fast paced world.
The most important thing I have to say about this upcoming day of once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is that I sincerely hope that I do not stray from my preparation out of nervousness.
This is a portion of my pitch, for your enjoyment:
I work fluently across methodologies, platforms and machines, to translate between business needs and what the technology in question is capable of. Much of the pain I’m called on to resolve is caused by gaps nobody could see from where they were standing.
